Our Story
Claddagh Design was founded by award winning Irish jewelry designer, silver and goldsmith, Eileen Moylan.
From her workshop in the south of Ireland, Eileen has been transforming ideas from silver and gold to fine Irish jewelry for over two decades.
Inspired by craftmanship of Ireland’s past, through her contemporary jewelry collection, Eileen explores historic Irish symbols of the past. Using modern design principles, she applies traditional techniques to transform precious metals into timeless creations.

This contemporary Irish jewelry collection draws inspiration from the famous Claddagh ring, ancient Ogham writing and intricate Celtic knots as seen in the famous Book of Kells and Newgrange World Heritage Site.
Eileen's philosophy is simple. "Ireland inspires every design I create. In our modern world, the emphasis tends to be on the disposable. I established Claddagh Design to make jewelry that is made to worn and enjoyed for a lifetime. There is so much to be learnt from the amazing Irish artifacts that survived down through the centuries. Drawing from the beauty and craftsmanship of the past, we can create exceptional contemporary pieces to be worn today and by future generations."
Eileen was born and raised in County Kerry. After qualifying with a degree from Crawford College of Art and Design in Cork, she went on to complete a design masters in the University of Wales. She returned to Irish soil to begin training under one of Ireland’s last remaining traditional silversmiths.
In 2010, her passion for crafting high-quality jewelry led to the launch of Claddagh Design. Eileen works in sterling silver, gold as well as platinum, palladium.
Sustainability is at the heart of each design. Each piece individually crafted in 100% recycled precious metals by Eileen and her team. Every diamond and precious gemstone is carefully chosen, conflict free and ethically sourced.
