This week we've added a new product to our shop. This tie pin which is solid silver has an etched image of the claddagh motif. This piece is made by first cutting out the silver disc.
Then drawing the claddagh design onto the silver and masking off the areas of the design you dont' want etched. The piece is then etched in an acid solution, cleaned and polished. When I am happy with the etching I hammer the disc into a a domed shape. Then I solder the solid silver pin onto the back and send it for hallmarking.
