Busy January in the Claddagh Design workshop

Silversmith Claddagh Design

Happy New Year!

I've been back in the workshop since last week but this is the first chance I've had to sit down at the computer and update the blog. After a busy few months it was really lovely to celebrate Christmas with family and friends.

While I really enjoyed the break it was great getting back to the workshop and starting on new projects and designs. We've got another very busy month ahead as we are exhibiting at Showcase Ireland which is Ireland largest craft and design trade show. After our success at Showcase last year we decided to exhibit again this year showing our new collection of work and of course to meet all our lovely stockists.

The show takes place over four days and brings together over three hundred and fifty Irish makers and designers. So it's also a great chance to catch up with friends and colleagues. Last year our exhibition stand was in the balcony are whereas this year we are exhibiting with The Crafts Council of Ireland in their Creative Island area.

This area is made up of makers who's work has all been 'Imagined, Designed and Made in Ireland' And as you will know from reading this blog we certainly fall under this category! I'll be sharing our stand design, our new products and all the other news from this trade show closer to the time. As well as this we're also adding new designs to the collection. While I had a chance to relax over the holidays my mind was buzzing with new ideas.

So I've been busy sketching and I'm delighted to announce many of these pieces will be coming very soon! This was by far our most exciting Christmas for custom jewelry, our customers designs were brilliant and we got to create some wonderful one off pieces of jewelry on your behalf. So I'm planning to put together a post of some of the custom pieces we made last month. Anyway with that list of work I had better sign off and get back to it!. I hope your 2013 has gotten off to a flying start, wishing you all a fun filled year ahead :)
